Shoes, Glorious Shoes! 15

And the ShoeDazzle love affair begins...

I signed up for ShoeDazzle about a year ago, maybe a little less than that. Bought the purse that I carried to the Aerosmith concert in July, but then honestly didn't pay much attention to the next few months' links.

Now, if you don't know how ShoeDazzle works, you basically fill out a quick survey when you first sign up for the site. It asks you about your tastes, gives you examples of shoes and asks you to pick your faves, etc. From that, their team of stylists picks out a monthly showroom that matches your taste. As your membership continues, you're occasionally sent chances to tweak what choices you're getting each month, in case you're not satisfied. Almost everything on the site is $39; so really affordable, especially for the shoes. It's probably a little much for some of the purses/jewelry. But then again, my love is stronger for shoes, so maybe if I were obsessed with purses/jewelry I would be inclined to spend more on them.

I got this pair during one of the promotions they were running. That's usually when they reel me in. I look at my monthly showroom, sometimes see a couple of things I like but usually talk myself out of it. Until I get the "Today Only!" e-mails. Then... it's all over.

Review: 6" heel. Fits true to size. I really don't know if you can go wrong on the comfort factor with boots. Maybe if you had the wrong size... regardless, these are very comfortable. I will say, my ankles are pretty skinny - you can see how much extra space there is at the top of the shoe - so the zipper did start to rub a bit by the end of the day.

There's not much I love more with an ankle boot than either a bulky sweater or a sweater dress. While they work with pants/long skirts, too - I think it's more fun to let them stand out on their own and get the attention they deserve!

Shoes, Glorious Shoes! 14

We're diving into the cold weather shoes, people!

I am a bit obsessed with these boots. It all started when I saw a co-worker wearing over-the-knee boots one day. The boots and her outfit were so cute, I decided I needed to copy the look. While searching for a pair of grey boots, I ran across these lovelies at a REALLY good price. Considering almost all of my wardrobe is either black or red, I knew they'd still get plenty of use, so I changed my mind on grey and purchased these instead.

Now, you wanna talk about attention-getters. THESE. GET. ATTENTION. Every time I wear them, I either get the "Those are so cuuuuuuute!" comments, or my personal fave, the up-down judgemental eyes. Those eyes are usually followed by the person realizing I am watching them, and they quickly slap on a smile and say "Girl, those boots are SEXY!" what they're really thinking is "I can't believe she wore those hooker boots to work!"

That reaction is hilarious, and I'll tell you why. If their brain instantly goes to hooker when they see over-the-knee boots... well... I'm just wondering what they're doing with their spare time is all I'm gonna say. While I agree these boots are very sexy (especially if you flip up the fold-over flap... err... I mean...), I am never one of the opinion that a shoe can't be worn in multiple ways, places, environments. If you're feeling it, I say rock 'em proudly!

Review: 4" heel. Fits true to size. These boots are comfortable. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're extremely comfortable, the leather is really thick, and lined heavily on the inside. So it makes for a VERY warm wear. Either be prepared to be hot, or only wear them on cold days. Being that they're over the knee and thick leather, they actually move pretty well. I've worn them to work a couple times and by the end of the day am ready to get them off, but not in pain.

I was loving my outfit that day. Super simple - again, when you have an attention-grabbing shoe, play down the outfit - but foxy-posh at the same time. I may have just invented a new fashion term, there. Foxy-posh. Mark it down. ©Katybug, 2013.

Shoes, Glorious Shoes! 13

Well, it's a new year! I figure, what better time to catch up on the shoe blogs I have let pile up?

This pair is one of the oldest in my closet, other than some old cheapos that I never wear, yet can't seem to bring myself to throw/give away. The logic in that? I have no idea. I can go through my clothes a few times a year and pull what I never wear, doesn't fit, or I have grown too old for, and pack up in a box for Goodwill without a second thought. And when I say a box for Goodwill, I mean my friend Kelly - who then proceeds to go through, keep what she wants and THEN gives to Goodwill. But you know... minute details.

The funny thing about the "grown too old for" aspect is that it wasn't too long *cough* 10 years *cough* ago that Kelly & I both insisted we didn't care how old we were, we would always wear whatever we wanted. Now when I look at those clothes that we wore when we said that... well thank goodness neither of us thinks that way anymore. Nobody wants to see a 30-something woman walking around in a shirt that says I  Boys.

*cue sirens*

But, I digress. The shoes. Despite these being fairly old, they are still one of my favorite pairs. They're attention-getters. And I know it shocks you all that I would like anything that brings attention my way.

Take a moment. Compose yourselves.

I don't have an interesting story to go with these, given how old they are. Only thing I remember is I bought them online after being influenced by a co-worker who had bought several new pairs of shoes that week. This was before my inner shoe-whore had been brought out, but I guess when exposed to enough stimulants...

Review: 4" heel. Fits true to size, however with them being mostly cloth, your toes tend to slide to the front of the shoe, almost making it look like you're trying to cram your feet into shoes that are too small. Consisdering how little support they have, they are actually REALLY comfortable. I don't wear them too often to work, because I do so much walking that they come untied a lot if I don't tie them just right. Regardless. LOVE.

Hate that you can't see the shoes very well in this picture, but you get the idea. I always try to go simple with the outfit when I have a shoe that steals the attention.

One blog down... 4 to go!
